Yuvraj a doubtful starter for first ODI

Yuvraj Singh is a doubtful starter for the first one-dayer against Sri Lanka due to a finger injury and a final decision on his availability would be taken tomorrow.

Saurashtra Cricket Association president Niranjan Shah said that the team management would take a decision on Yuvraj’s availability for the match after going through the report submitted by the orthopedic surgeon.

“The Indian Team management will take a final decision tomorrow whether Yuvraj would play or not, after looking at the report submitted by the orthopedic surgeon,” Shah told PTI.

Vizag ODI shifted due to Telangana problem

The second ODI between India and Sri Lanka due to be played on December 18, has been shifted out of Vizag due to the ongoing Telangana crisis in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

According to a report on NDTV, the police commissioner of Vizag informed the Andhra Cricket Association that the police cannot provide the required level of security for the match.

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed that the ODI had indeed been shifted out of Vizag for security reasons, but insisted that the ODI series would proceed as scheduled – with the second ODI taking place on the 18th of December, but at a different venue.

The ODI will now be played at Nagpur and the BCCI has given instructions to the VCA to prepare the stadium for the same.
